We were only able to complete 95% of the work with one hour added to the original allotted time. It was explained to the householder in a update of the situation at that time. Because we had a later appointment that day, we only had an additional hour we could a lot for additional cleaning. At that time, the house holder asked us to utilize the additional time focusing on just the 1st floor. The reason we could not completely complete all intended was because of the excessive amount of dog hair on the floors, walls, corners and crevices. Each time we cleaned an area, hair would return! Each area had to be cleaned at least 3-4 times to be in satisfactory condition because of dog hair. Our unforeseen delay was the preview of "El Niño"! There was sudden down pour and lightening, much too dangerous for working outside with plug-in electric tools and long steel poles!

We had a 2 day delay! My wife and crew went to the address 1/2 hour before the scheduled time, however she could not find the residence! There were no addresses painted on the curb nor posted on the buildings! My wife called me, I GPS my wife's location, then find out that they are parked infront of the address! I then sugguested that they get out and walk around to see if they can find the location. Beneath heavy bush vegetation, 20 feet high was an old home split up into several apartments. His door was 50 feet down the driveway and up a staircase under the brush where the numbers of his address where located!(keep in mind that it was not visable from the street)! Before seeing if we had trash bags, they offered us bags because they chose to dispose their packaged foods, miscellaneous items and drinks from the rooms, cabinets and refrigerator instead of packing them! Initially, we set an appointment and he had to cancel due to a death in the family. I contacted him after to see if the work needed to be done with no response.

A few weeks later I received a call from him to complete some other work but we were unable to connect and set up a time that worked for both of us. I try my best to please my customers and set up times that are convenient for them, unfortunately, we were not able to do that for this customer. I did something extra to make her house look more appealing for the market. She had oversize mini blinds that the excess was hanging over the window ledge. I cut them and adjusted them accordingly. Prior to the completion I have her review each one of the miniblinds and they were all to her satisfaction! In addition she was completely satisfied with the cleaning and the handyman work! I receive no text nor phone call In regards to a blind not done properly! Strangely enough she has hired me to do more work on the same property! Unfortunately I went out of my way to handle one of Mr Cunnighams projects by subcontracting a job. For the customer it was a " win win" situation! There was a broken spring On his garage that through investigation I discovered that many of these doors in this housing track did not have the appropriate spring for the weight of the door.

Also through investigation it was more beneficial for the customer to have the subcontractor to install the springs (2 because the broken weakened the good one) because their installation afforded them a 5 year guarantee whereas me installing provided no guarantee by the manufacture to pass on to the customer. In my 25+ years, I had only seen garage door springs broken by neglegence. there was no neglagence herer. I disclosed this information to the client and provided them with the option of me installing the springs or the vendor. They chose the vendor because of the warranty. I provided them a retail price with a variance of $30 in the event it the springs were the most expensive because of the 10 different spring possiblities available. Unfortunately the installer disclosed my wholesale price to the spouse upon arrival and I explained to the client that the retail price would have reflected the same had they directly contracted the vender themselves. The vendor repaired the door. The repairs I made to their home were the result of fixing things that was not completed by a plumber that they contracted prior for broken house pipes.

The most important of the jobs done involved REPAIRING SOMEONE ELSES UN FINISHED WORK! One room had a large area of wall removed were new piping was installed WAS NOT RECESSED ( stuck out beyond the wall)! Even though the wall was properly repaired with the pipe installed beyod the wall surface, I told the customer that I would use another material other than drywall to make her wall smoother even with the pipe sticking out. I contracted business with the husband however i dealt with the spouse when the repairing was being done. Her stories were interesting of the numerous "handymen" that have been to their home, did their repairs and left the spouse with additional housework cleaning up the mess they had left behind. She was greatly appreciative for the job I performed and how I left the area spotless to her satisfactionas, as if no one had been there! Even though I had agreed to re-do a job to her satisfaction though it was no fault of mine, it took over 3 weeks to receive a response to return to their home (I purchased a special material outside of our agreement to satisfy the wife).
