My name is Jim Copenhaver, and I am the owner of Punch List, Chicago’s Full-Service Handyman Specialist Company. I’m originally from Kansas City, Missouri. Growing up, my father was a general contractor and I remember going to his work sites with him where I’d try my hand at building things like dog houses and bird houses. It was clear, early on, that I had a passion for construction and remodeling. I guess I learned a thing or two over the years. Punch List was born. Along with my wife and two young children, we now reside, go to school in the Lakeview area and support local Chicago businesses. We find that most people can easily make a list of at least 10 items around their home or office in need of repair. With Punch List, there is no need to hire multiple contractors. Our skilled craftsmen provide full, end-to-end service. In a timely fashion, we address your needs, knock each and every item off of your punch-list and get you back to enjoying your home.Punch List hires only skilled craftsmen with years of industry experience.
This allows us to provide an exceptional experience that is unmatched in the Chicago Handyman industry. Fergus grew up in Chicago and wanted to be either a cop or go into the trades. As a result, a high percentage of my business is from repeat customers and referrals. We strive to exceed expectations and will work with each client to create a plan that meets their every need. I welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry. I grew up right here in Columbia and have been involved in the home maintenance, property management business, and been a landlord for over six years.
I have always loved the outdoors. Prior to starting Handy-Matt LLC, I ran a landscaping business for ten years. I earned a B.S. in Finance and Management from Columbia College. I’m a Licensed Realtor. I sit on the Credit Committee at Columbia Municipal Employees Credit Union. I hold a Missouri Life and Health Insurance license. I grew up in Bevier, Missouri and moved back to Columbia from Colorado a few years ago. On the weekends, I can be found doing one of many outdoor activities including: biking, camping, hunting, or just relaxing next to a barbeque grill. I enjoy working with my team at Handy-Matt and Property Protectors. We often get together outside of business hours to enjoy each others’ company. Everyone on my team possesses a multitude of skills and knowledge that encompasses many specialities. My favorite thing about helping homeowners is that I am a Handyman. I am not just a plumber, not just an electriction, not just a carpenter, not just a painter, I do it all.
I like being called in to fix a garbage disposal due to a water leak (plumber), then discovering the under-the-sink power outlet doesn’t work (electriction), and the cabinet floor has severe water damage and needs replacing (carpenter). I help the homeowner reconcile all these issues without the hassle of calling another contractor. Everyday is different, and I love finding solutions to help our clients! Originally from the Kansas City area, I’ve lived in Columbia since 2009 and graduated from Rock Bridge High School in the spring of 2013. I began working for Handy-Matt LLC several months later and enjoy the hands-on, non-office setting that comes with it. Besides Handy-Matt, I had a Spring internship at OrderUp doing marketing and participating in PR events at local restaurants and on MU’s campus. After work and on the weekends, I like to go mountain biking at Devil’s Icebox and to see my friends, but I would be just as happy listening to music in the driveway under the hood of my car.
Otherwise, nothing beats a night of watching Netflix and relaxing at home before bed. Winnie Gracie grew up in south Arkansas. After high school, she married her husband of 40 years, Michael.
