Compared to other castles this little gem was more authentic than the bigger touristy ones. I say this cause it had most of the original items of the people who lived there, not just a bunch of reproductions. Each room had a friendly advisor on hand happy to answer any questions. All round it felt like a tranquil place. We visited this castle and gardens in November, unfortunately the gardens are past their best by then and the castle shuts at the end of October, we had a good stroll around the wall garden and surrounding woodlands which would be very pleasant to do in the summer as well as being able to view the castle interior then, The...

Had a nice visit to Kellie, but think staff need to be a bit better organised at front desk. Got ticket about to start to be told by a sharp lady that a tour was on and we could have to wait!! Should have checked this out before we visited but there was no Wifi at the cottage we were staying in. We approached this beautiful Castle and was looking forward to having a look round. We went into gift shop and bought a guide. Then went into the coffee shop and had a drink and a sandwich that was lovely. This was one of the best turn offs we could have taken. The Castle is like something out of a fairytale and the walls and garden are worth the drive. We enjoyed a scone and some coffee as we relaxed in the scenic surround. This was such a lovely place and truly enhanced by the fabulous glass sculpture 'unknown' by Alison Kinnaird. It was spectacular and gave great food for thought about conflict in the world today and in times past. Gardens were lovely and it was great to see the sculptures by Hew Lorimer, incredible to believe how much he achieved in his...

Dropped into Pittenweem cos we'd heard they had a fish market on the quay. Thought it might be a bit of a spectacle as well as being able to pick something really fresh for this evening's meal. The only activity was packing up and hosing everywhere down. Did see a few Eider ducks though, so it wasn't a complete... We had a late lunch and tea here before exploring the gardens and castle. Lovely people and grounds. Lovely day out as always. Gardens looked lovely and food was good, shame to see that Kieron is no longer with you. He was an excellent, hard worker and very socially comfortable, he got on with my kids like a dime. Would love to see him back up there! Spent a plesent few hours sat outside in the sunshine, however as I am disabled I couldn't get very far - unfortunately there's no disabled access to the inside of the house. The gardens were a lovely working garden & you can buy home grown produce and plants onsite. As the paths in the garden were very loose stones it...
