We called here just for coffee and a toasted tea cake over the Christmas break. It's a beautiful tearoom and so sympathetically restored by the lovely owners. The garden at the front is absolutely gorgeous too and there are tables there for use in better weather. The bonus is that it's dog friendly too which for us... Called in on a days drive. Ended staying the night. Soraya and Dave are brilliant hosts. Lunch was very busy with cyclists people passing by. Good range of sandwiches wraps homemade scones and cakes on offer. Breakfast was 1st class. Continental in croissants Danish pastries to fruit and yogurt cereals as well as a full English breakfast. A great little place for a brew and snack or more. These places are few and far between long may they survive. These places are should last for ever they are part of our culture. Called in after a visit to Kielder Forest. Very friendly and welcoming. The cafe / shop is well stocked and he hospitality is incredible with the owners going out of their way to make our group feel welcome. Very cyclist friendly (they even provided towels after we had been soaked in a downpour)... Having done a walk along part of Hadrian's Wall we popped into the tea room and in doing so found a lovely little hamlet. The welcome at the tea room was friendly and the scones we had were the best we've ever had with a good cup of tea to accompany them. Well worth a visit. Another tea stop was needed and we saw the 'tea room' sign from the B road and hoped it would be open on a Sunday afternoon. We were not disappointed. Owners Westie is cute, the cakes gorgeous and we will be heading back there again. Got talking to a couple who run a local B&B, their Sunday roast looked wonderful,... We stumbled across this lovey tea room completely by accident. We were driving to Hadrian's wall from the Scottish Borders and fancied a stop for a coffee. We saw a sign for the tea room from the main road and we are so glad we did.
