As a rear cottage in the historic Druid Hills district it boasts privacy, beautiful trees, wonderful birdlife and a large backyard - yet it's close to great restaurants and only a mile from downtown. Being in Hendersonville it's also close to some of the best hiking and mountain biking in the Southeast - just 30 minutes to DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. Downtown Asheville and Brevard are also just 30 minutes in either direction.
The cottage itself is renovated with a new bathroom, cathedral beadboard ceiling in the bedroom and new front deck. The kitchen is stocked with a range of spices, quality cooking equipment and a gas stove. The living room has a 37" flatscreen with Apple TV and HBO Now and the bedroom has a 22" flatscreen with Blu-Ray player. Both TVs also have Netflix, Hulu, etc. (which can be signed into using your own account), and several local channels are available on the living room TV. The bedroom has a Queen bed with Tempur-Pedic mattress. A stacked washer and dryer are in a dedicated closet, and if you have work with you there is even a separate office with a desk, printer and reading nook. French doors lead from the living room to a cool screened porch (wonderful on summer evenings) and the sunny wraparound deck is a great spot for morning coffee.Meadowbrook Cottage is your own for the duration of your stay. All appliances and equipment are available for your use. Some personal items will be stored away unobtrusively.

Druid Hills is an Historic District designed in 1923 as an 'Olmsteadian' neighborhood (the designer of Biltmore Estate/Central Park/the Montford area of Asheville, etc). As such, there is a variety of architectural styles including Craftsman, Tudor and Colonial. The cottage was built in 1928. It's a leafy, established neighborhood with a lovely family feel and great streets for walking. It's only a mile from downtown Hendersonville, and even less to the burgeoning 7th Ave district, home to Southern Appalachian Brewery, Underground Bakery and more (I frequently bike or walk there through Patton Park).
