A TV antiques dealer has put his beloved family home on the market. After 20 years living in his restored chapel near Eglwysbach in the Conwy Valley, Drew Pritchard is now looking to sell-up and downsize. The five-bedroom, three bathroom property includes a number of unique features - such as an ornate toilet previously owned by Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. And for the princely sum of £795,000, prospective buyers will be snapping-up a piece of local history in the deal. Drew, who stars in the hit TV antiques show Salvage Hunters, bought the chapel when it was derelict and had no electricity, drains and needed a new roof. “But I fell in love with it straight away, it was so untouched,” he added. “It’s so quiet here, that when I first moved I freaked out because of this strange noise which turned out to be the cows munching grass. READ: Salvage Hunters star Drew Pritchard opens Glan Conwy antique base for first time in three years “As a family we’ve had great times, it’s a great party house. “

No matter where I was on a buying trip, I’d travel four or five hours just to get home for the night.” The property boasts three stables, 13 acres of land and a holiday cottage. It also includes a large pond, currently home to Moorhens and some Canadian Geese, which Drew built himself. “I’ll never be able to get another house like this, it’s going to be hard to leave it as I’ve seen my children grow up here,” he added. READ: Salvage Hunters star Drew Pritchard sells his Conwy base “I’ve done most of the work on my house myself, including the stained glass windows. “The loo in the main bathroom did used to belong to Mick Jagger, the slate flagstones in the hallway came from a cattle shed in Corwen. “And the kitchen is made from the original chapel pews. “The radiators come from Ysbyty Gwynedd (in Bangor).” READ: Salvage Hunter's Drew Pritchard at war with Bodnant Estate over Eglwysbach planning bid The chapel dates to 1812 - the Regency period which happens to be Drew’s favourite era for architecture.

He said: “When I first went into the chapel, the bible was still placed on the pulpit and there were these little brown envelopes for the congregation to put their collections in. “I was told by an old lady in Eglwysbach that the name of the property means the house at the edge of the world.” Sadly, Drew’s own collection of personal antiques won’t come with the house. They range from a neon “curry” sign (his favourite food) to carved pilasters from the Argentinian Embassy in Rio de Janeiro. The chapel’s dining table used to take pride of place at an all girl’s school in Colwyn Bay while Drew’s wine cooler dates back to Roman times and is made out of marble. One of his favourite pieces is an original art deco dodgem’s sign which was used in a fairground. What are your views on this story?
